MovieBar - 30th April 2012 Line-up...

7.30pm Monday 30th April 2012

We’ve moved our May event back a week to make way for Fringe events at the Caroline and we have an awesome selection of short films lined up. This month we’re running with a heist movie theme which again actually relates to at least one of the films we’re screening!

As always there will be an opportunity to hear many of the filmmakers talk about their work after each film and we have a heist-movie related film quiz with prizes!

Here’s the line-up…

First Date

An original take on the heist-gone-wrong story in this slick and fast-paced short from director Andreas Beltzer.

Seeking Sunlight

Director Steve Hayes visits other worlds in a sci-fi short that features some impressive visual effects.

Steve will be coming along to talk about the film.

Today

An affectionate relationship drama takes an unexpected turn in this hard-hitting short from director Robert Reina.

Robert and producer/actor Fiona Gilbert will be coming along to talk about the film.

Going Dark – Smiling Knife

Innovative and fun puppet-based music video from Brighton band Smiling Knife.

Justine Barker from the band and director Dick Philpot will be coming along to talk about the film.

Bleach

Lynsey Miller’s well-produced drama follows a troubled, career-driven woman and the surprising consequences of an encounter with her free-thinking cleaner.

Crees Foundation promo

Dan Childs' promotional film for the Crees Foundation is a beautifully shot documentary that tells the true story of one man's crusade to promote sustainability in the Peruvian Amazon.

Dan will be coming along to talk about the film.

Under a Vest

Filmmaker Kal Bonner plays with conventions in this stylish noir short.
